Used Bedding Waste
• Used bedding waste removed from the yards is currently used as organic fertilizer on agricultural land in the vicinity of the farms;
• A pilot project has been launched in collaboration with the University of Orléans, France, which aims to use this waste to heat the halls, thereby reducing the energy consumption required for this process. Testing is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025.
Selective Recycling Program
The practice of selective waste recycling in office areas is an efficient method of waste management that involves separating and collecting different types of recyclable materials for subsequent reuse.

Our goal is to produce thermal energy with products from any biomass, respectively by-products and organic waste.
Carmistin logistics park currently includes 50 electrical vehicles in its portfolio.
The organization’s target is to reach 200 electric vehicles by the end of 2024. Within the Carmistin organization, the LaProvincia project is part of the strategic line of production of healthy food through sustainable processes, conducted in conjunction with the reduction of carbon emissions.
Responsible Water Management
Wastewater Treatment Plants
In order to protect the environment and uphold the principle of sustainable development, we have considered the inclusion of wastewater treatment plants in our facilities. This allows a significant amount of water to be returned to the natural circuit every day.
Periodic quality testing of the treated water is conducted in accordance with the provisions of environmental permits, rules and regulations in force, using the services of external laboratories.
Modern Irrigation Systems
To manage agricultural water use efficiently, the Group aims for approximately 50% of cultivated land to be equipped with modern irrigation systems by the end of 2025. These systems reduce water consumption by up to eight times compared to traditional ones.
Project: Modernization of the Irrigation
System - OUAI PROTECT AGRO BABA ANA - MIZIL
Location: Baba Ana, Mizil, Prahova County
Estimated project value: 997.481 €
This project mainly aims at the following objectives:
• modernization and upgrading of the irrigation system infrastructure for a net area of 2.151 ha;
• modernization of the pumping station to extract water from ANIF’s CV2 intake canal and pump it into the related irrigation pipeline network;
• upgrading of the irrigation pipeline network to transport water to the watering facilities.
The implementation of this project will support the adaptation of the Group’s agriculture line of business to climate change and is expected to result in significantly increased and higher-quality cereal yields per hectare.
Wastewater Treatment Plant at the Târgu Jiu Slaughterhouse
Another project was completed, namely the construction of a wastewater treatment plant at the slaughterhouse unit in Târgu Jiu. Thus, a new treatment plant was built behind the slaughterhouse, with a capacity of 900 m³/day, and the treated water will be reused.
