Green Energy
Sep 9, 2025
Following the EU’s accession to the Paris Agreement and with the launch of the Energy Union Strategy, the Union has taken on an important role in the fight against climate change through the 5 main dimensions: energy security, decarburization, energy efficiency, internal energy market and research, innovation and competitiveness.
Thus, the European Union is committed to leading the global energy transition by meeting the targets set out in the Paris Agreement on climate change, which aims to provide clean energy across the European Union. In terms of the share of renewable energy, the European Commission has recommended that Romania increase the national target for renewable energy to at least 34% by 2030.
As a result, the company’s development strategy is in line with the objectives set by the National Strategy for the valorization of renewable resources, namely the promotion of electricity production from renewable energy sources.
Taking into account these main lines of action at European level and the fact that Carmistin Organization is a rapidly evolving group of companies, constantly seeking solutions to ensure energy security, the group has shaped its development strategy accordingly.
Below is an overview of the measures already implemented, along with ongoing projects aimed at enhancing sustainability:
• Electricity and natural gas are the main inputs of the technological process. To ensure long-term cost stability, we decided to accredit a company within the group for the activity of electricity and natural gas supply. Thus, in October 2021, the company GREENCORE INTERNATIONAL SRL obtained the license from the National Authority for Energy Regulation (ANRE to supply electricity. The natural gas supply license is expected to be issued by the same authority this month.. This step is a stability measure that allows us to purchase energy and natural gas directly from producers and supply to Carmistin group locations, thus avoiding exposure to price fluctuations in the supply market, but also allows us to select producers that use renewable sources of energy production.
• At the same time, we have started training and awareness-raising initiatives for staff at chicken farms, where we have the highest consumption of natural gas, to optimize consumption and reduce waste.
