We support education and help reduce school dropout rates – a campaign launched by the Carmistin Foundation.

The Carmistin Foundation is launching a social responsibility campaign – We support education and help reduce school dropout rates – providing food, clothing, and covering school transport costs for children from disadvantaged rural families.

The first action under this project took place in the commune of Leleasca, where the Carmistin Group operates the largest organic egg-laying hen farm in Romania. The Foundation’s team, together with farm employees, delivered food packages to children left in the care of their grandmother.

This initiative will be repeated every two weeks, to help ensure that the children can continue their education and without being forced to drop out of school due to hardships at home. The Foundation also donated 30 laying hens to the family, which will be able to meet their egg needs for a period of two to four years.

Throughout 2025, the Carmistin Foundation plans to expand the project to other communities where the Carmistin Group operates. The initiative focuses on extreme social cases but also targets children with outstanding academic results who need support to continue their education.

According to official reports, one in four children and young people in Romania (700,000 individuals aged between 3 and 23) are not enrolled in any form of education, and in rural areas, one in three children drops out of school.

This is the third campaign recently launched by the Carmistin Foundation. Among the Foundation’s most impactful projects are School Meal Day, which involves distributing hot meals prepared from the LaProvincia product range — a brand of Carmistin The Food Company — in rural schools, and the annual food donation campaign, which provides food packages from its own portfolio to hospitals and social centers.
